How do I wash my locs?

Avoiding product build up will be trial and error to begin with. Believe it or not, clean hair locks faster and better, so we recommend it as often as you normally would. Some may find washing your dreads weekly is required. Some only go twice a month, while others get away with once a month. Meh, we’re all different and isn’t it beautiful.

How do I rid the frizz?

There’s a few elements to this answer, starting with the age of your locs. In the baby lock stage, expect a little frizz as they settle into their new way of life. They may look looser or fuzzier and understanding it’s part of the process.

If your locs are longer and older, a technique called ‘palm rolling’ will tighten your locs enough to last you until the next loctician visit. One of our ambassadors shares what she does below.

With palm rolling, simply take one dread, starting from the top, rub your hands back and forth, working across the dread and down slowly to the end as you go. You’ll need to do this will each dread and we’ve found at least once a day keeps the frizz away.
